My plan was only to post ‘destinations’, Merriwa was a ‘free camp’ on the way to Molong to break up the driving (we are aiming to keep to under 5 hours a day). However, Merriwa is such a lovely country town I decided it deserves its own post.
Merriwa is on the Australian Silo Art Trail which is aiming to encourage people to visit country towns. Some people follow the silo art trail as a holiday. The Merriwa mural depicts an image of a sheep wearing red socks in a canola field (If you are interested in ‘why the red socks’ see australiansiloarttrail.com).
Recommend a visit to Merriwa if you are nearby!

Lovely sheeps 8) I love town art like that. And the blue skies look very attractive from a cold and very soggy England! I’m hoping you’ll get some rain soon too though – the fires around Sydney still look bad: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-australia-50885772
