Auburn, Clare Valley (Wk 19)

Lunch at Skillogalee

We left Adelaide on 16/03/2020 to drive west to the Clare Valley. We have visited the Clare Valley back in 2012 with my father and Janet and decided to have a quick return visit. The main reason was to have lunch at Skillogalee cellar door as last time I was the designated driver and we had already had lunch. Our return visit did not disappoint.

Although we had visited before I had forgotten how different the Clare Valley is from other wine areas e.g. McLaren Vale. It has an ‘olde world’ charm with beautiful buildings and landscape. I think we both wished we had allocated more time there.

Old railway track now the Riesling Trail for walking/cycling (between vineyards!)

We are now on the Yorke Peninsula for a bit of downtime, catch-up with chores (there is always something to fix), some walking along the coastline, maybe get to start a book :-), stop thinking about the virus for 2 minutes and generally have some R&R. So may not post anything for a week or so.

Enjoy Australia’s “Mediterranean”, last glimpses of water for a few weeks. Stay clean and healthy. Travelling away from the population centers is probably a wise move.
    Enjoying your pics.

Glad to see you guys are still on the road and not letting bushfires or pandemics stop you. Take care.
