On 25/03/2021 we arrived at Cania Gorge Tourist Retreat for 3 nights. Not very well known but a beautiful place for a few days. So peaceful with great facilities and access to both Cania Gorge NP and Kroombit Tops NP.
On arrival we went for a drive to Cania dam and a short walk to the Shamrock mine site. The following day Paul wanted to visit a WW2 Betsy Bomber crash site in Kroombit Tops NP but after 2 hours we had only got to the lookout; to get to the crash site would have been another 3 hours, 4wd is slow business 🤣. The car is a tad dirty now.
On our final day we went for one of the many walks from the caravan park into Cania Gorge. The walk took us to Fern Pool and Giant’s Chair lookout. Hot work so we cooled off in the swimming pool.
Tomorrow (28/03/2021) we really start going west. We have 3 one night stops: Duaringa, Jericho and Barcaldine (indicated by the green moons). We meet up with Jason and Jo Farrow in Barcaldine. Together we travel to Oondooroo Station (Winton) for a 2 night stay. Winton is the dinosaur capital of Australia. A couple more relics are on their way 😄.

Great update….you do look hot! Thanks for the explanation of the green moons being where you are staying…I still think the purple flags indicate where Paul will be playing golf🤣🤣🤣
