Kings Canyon (WK 3)

Kings Canyon

I had missed out on walking Kings Canyon in October 2015 due to illness but this time I walked the 6km Rim Walk that starts with 100m climb upstairs known as heart attack hill (Trish and Pete will remember it well πŸ˜„). What an amazing experience.

We arrived at Kings Creek Station on 11/04/2021 for a 2 night stay and had a relaxing afternoon catching up on chores (still washing, cleaning and cooking to do even on holiday) followed by a burger at the Station restaurant.

Getting up at sunrise on 12/04/2021 we drove to Kings Canyon for the Rim Walk. We were lucky that the weather has turned cool, perfect conditions for the 2.5 hour walk. Breathtaking views of the structure and the surrounding countryside.

It was cold but no for long after walking up heart attack hill (behind!)

On 13/04/20201 we travel to Uluru for a 1 night stay to see the Field of Lights. This is our third visit to the Red Centre so it’s a fleeting one.

Next stop – Ayers Rock

Wow – Kings Canyon looks GREAT. The colours are amazing. We missed out on walking it but stayed at the same caravan park you did. D
